Elon Musk Compares Canada PM Justin Trudeau To Hitler, Deletes Tweet After Backlash

New Delhi: In the latest controversial tweet, Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk posted a satirical meme comparing Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau to Nazi leader Adolf Hitler, saying “Stop comparing me to Justin Trudeau. I had a budget.”

The tweet on Nazi leader didn’t go down well triggering a backlash from netizens followed by which Musk deleted the tweet in which he compared Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and Adolf Hitler.

In reaction to the tweet, the American Jewish Committee, an advocacy organization had called on Musk to apologize for making reference to the dictator who oversaw the genocide of millions.

A Twitter spokesperson said the social-media company “did not take enforcement action” on the tweet, according to Bloomberg.

The 50-year-old entrepreneur had tweeted in response to a post by cryptocurrency trade publication CoinDesk about Trudeau’s emergency orders which had cut off funds to protesters who have blocked border crossings and camped out in Canada’s capital.

It’s rare and unusual for Musk to delete tweets. Last time, Musk deleted a tweet almost a year ago in which hinted that he believed Tesla might be on track to become the biggest company in the US.

The latest controversial tweet comes amid the electric carmaker facing complaints about racial discrimination and harassment.
