ED stops Jacqueline Fernandez at airport in extortion case – report

New Delhi: Bollywood actress Jacqueline Fernandez’s name has been in the news ever since she came against thug Sukesh Chandrashekhar in a money laundering case. As per the latest update, the ‘Ram Setu’ actress has been stopped at the airport by the Enforcement Directorate (ED). Jacqueline has been barred from leaving the country amid a probe into the Rs 200 crore extortion case allegedly involving thug Sukesh Chandrashekhar. A case has been registered against the actress with the Enforcement Directorate in Delhi.

According to a report in NDTV, Jacqueline Fernandez, who was traveling from India for a show in Dubai, was stopped at the Mumbai airport by immigration officials due to a ‘LOC (look out circular)’. The report further states that the actress will now be brought to Delhi for questioning.

Jacqueline’s name cropped up during the investigation into the alleged Rs 200 crore money laundering case of conman Sukesh Chandrashekhar. The name of the actress came after the thief presented her with expensive gifts., Actress Nora Fatehi’s name also surfaced in this alleged case. Both of them have been questioned by the ED.

Nora Fatehi’s team issued a statement denying her involvement in the case. The statement read, “On behalf of Nora Fatehi, we would like to clarify the various speculations going on among the media. Nora Fatehi has been a victim of the case and being a witness, she is assisting and helping the authorities in the investigation. We would like to make it very clear that she has not been a part of any money laundering activity, she does not know or has any personal relationship with the accused and the ED has strictly called her to help in the investigation.”

Meanwhile, talking about Jacqueline’s upcoming films, she will be next seen in Ram Setu, Bachchan Pandey, Circus, Vikrant Rona and Hari Har Veera Mallu.
