The bomber was killed shortly after 5:30 pm. The explosion was so strong that the personnel of the area reached the spot. A laborer died on the spot. The worker’s body was broken into pieces. Another worker suffered an eye injury. He was taken to a private hospital in Durgapur.
After this incident, the workers created a ruckus. They protested by placing the dead bodies in front and demanded compensation and protection. Durgapur police station reached the spot. Trade union representatives spoke to the officials of the refilling centre. The workers staged a sit-in at the fair, assuring them of compensation. Police are probing why such an explosion happened.
