DuckDuckGo Now Has an AI Chatbot
Popular search engines are using ChatGPT and other sources to provide responses.
DuckDuckGo is also leveraging artificial intelligence to deliver ChatGPT-like search results to its users. The search engine is following Microsoft and Google to bring you results through a chatbot called DuckAssist.
DuckDuckGo (DDG) says it is using existing AI technology from Open AI, the makers of ChatGPT, and Anthropic, an AI startup from ex-Open AI employees.
Both of these companies have provided their chatbots to power natural language from DDG, but it also provides results via Wikipedia, which some of you may be afraid of distorting the results due to the platform’s data editing feature. Can be happy.
DDG users can access the new AI assistant through the app and browser extension, which covers all devices where DDG is available. The beta version is free for everyone to use and you don’t need to login to use the assistant.
Right now you only have it in English, and in the coming weeks all search users can try Duck Assist. DDG is looking to use more sources to build up response time and accuracy of results. But it is imperative that the company also focuses on the relevance of the content provided and ensures that its language does not convey fake information.
AI chatbots have become the talk of the town, and Microsoft has a clear lead thanks to its $10 billion investment in Open AI thanks to ChatGPT. Bing Search and Edge browsers are the first products from the company to get chatbots, giving Bing another chance to become a relevant product in its field.
Microsoft’s AI-powered Bing search engine has crossed 100 million daily active users, as ChatGPT’s integration into Bing helped the company grow its usage like never before within a month. Its rival Google search engine has more than 1 billion daily active users.
