Drugs worth 686 crores caught: UP Police and SSB caught international drug racket at Nepal border, 25 lakh injections and 31 lakh tablets were found

The Uttar Pradesh Police and Sashastra Seema Bal personnel have taken a big action against the international gang supplying drugs. The team has seized drugs worth Rs 686 crore from Maharajganj district of UP near Nepal border on Tuesday.

The joint team carried out a search operation at a warehouse in Jamui Kala village. A large number of banned drugs and drugs were kept here. It was ready to be sent to Nepal. According to SSB Commandant Manoj Kumar and SP, the main accused Govind Gupta fled the spot. He has a reward of Rs 25,000 on him. The second accused Ramesh Kumar Gupta was arrested.

What was found in the drugs?
25 lakh narcotic injections, 2 lakh narcotic syrups, 31 lakh capsules, tablets, besides a large number of drug labels and wrappers were also found. These labels were put on the drugs and sent to medical stores in Nepal and the district.

The confiscated items include injectable diazepam, Cerezac and Nufin, while the syrups include Coldrin, Vonrix, Corex, Alcos. Alprazolam, Toxivin, Nitrazapam tablets have also been recovered. According to District Magistrate Dr. Ujjwal Kumar, the youth of both the countries were the target of the gang. Some local shopkeepers from nearby districts have also met him.

Hundreds of km open border challenge for SSB
The hundreds of kilometers of open border with Nepal is the biggest challenge for the SSB. Drug smugglers are active on this border. Youth on both sides of the border are victims of drug and injection addiction. However, after this action, their use may be banned to some extent.
