Dr. Sachan was murdered, not suicide: Deputy CMO accused in NRHM scam; After 11 years, the CBI court called the death a conspiracy

Former Deputy CMO Dr. YS Sachan, accused of NRHM i.e. National Rural Health Mission scam, did not commit suicide in Lucknow Jail. A special CBI court has treated the death as a case of murder and conspiracy on the basis of evidence.

The special CBI court has summoned the then police officers along with the officers posted in Lucknow jail in this case. The officers will have to appear on August 8 and record their statements.

Special Judicial Magistrate Samridhi Mishra of the special CBI court has asked jailer BS Mukund, deputy jailer Sunil Kumar Singh, prisoner guard Babu Ram Dubey and Mahendra Singh, who were in jail at the time of the incident, to appear before the court and present their case. They have been made accused.

Along with this, the then DGP of the state Karamveer Singh, Additional DGP VK Gupta and IG Lucknow Zone Subhash Kumar Singh have also been summoned. The court has given this order after hearing the writ of Dr. YS Sachan’s wife Malti.

He died in jail on 22 June 2011.
On 22 June 2011, Dr. YS Sachan died in jail under suspicious circumstances. He was in jail in the NRHM scam. On his death, the wife lodged an FIR against the unknown at the Gosaiganj police station on behalf of the family members.

In the judicial inquiry report on 11 July 2011, the death of Dr. Sachan was termed as murder. On 14 July 2011, the High Court transferred the investigation to the CBI. On September 27, 2012, after investigation, the CBI had imposed a charge sheet describing the death of Dr. Sachan as a suicide. Against this, Malti Sachan had filed an application in the court.
