Shivpal Yadav, the younger brother of Samajwadi Party patriarch Mulayam Singh Yadav, has claimed that his nephew Akhilesh Yadav is much more mature now, and that his sole aim was to make him the next chief minister of Uttar Pradesh. Shivpal also said that there is no infighting in the party or the family and he wants to look ahead.
Speaking at News18 Agenda Uttar Pradesh in Lucknow on Sunday, Pragatisheel Samajwadi Party Lohia chief Shivpal said, “Akhilesh has been CM and four-time MP, and he has been in the opposition so he has gained experience and is more mature now. This time he will not be cheated, if we were together, he would not have been cheated earlier also. I don’t want to talk about the old things, now I want to move on. Our main aim is to make Akhilesh the CM of UP in 2022.
When asked about his favorite politician till date, Shivpal said, “No doubt Netaji (Mulayam Singh Yadav) is the most. Dumb Politician. now it’s time to make Nephew (Nephew) Dumb, If he works hard then my son will excel too.”
When asked why he did not visualize the infighting within the party, Shivpal said, “There was nothing that could be imagined, I have always heard what Netaji has said. There was never any fight in the party or the family.”
So what will be the seat sharing formula with SP? He said, ‘We have always been a socialist and worked for the socialist society, we are associated with the SP for decades.’
On allegations of “dynasty” politics, Shivpal said, “We have struggled and abandoned many things before achieving what we have achieved. Only one who struggles in politics succeeds. Those who are saying patriarchy.” Yes, they never went out to fight.
Talking on the issue of the party’s election symbol, the leader said, “We don’t have our symbol now, now we will fight in alliance.” Whatever we decide will be according to strategy, we only want to oust BJP. Our only aim is to make Akhilesh the next CM of UP. We will discuss merger within the party and with Akhilesh. I don’t want to do any pressure politics, I want to remove BJP at any cost.
On the issue of law and order situation, Shivpal said, “This is the worst and most corrupt government in the state. I had never heard of corruption, transfer posting promotion etc in the education department. People want to remove BJP from power, people are fed up with inflation and unemployment. As soon as elections come, they resort to temple-mosque, Hindu-Muslim, no one can tell more lies than BJP.
