It is becoming increasingly clear that the Russian military is trying to consolidate its position in the eastern sector of Ukraine. While Kyiv was one of the first targets when the war broke out 100 days ago, the Russians are now moving closer to their goal of a second phase of complete control of the Donbass region and southern Ukraine adjoining Crimea.
