District Council School in Maharashtra’s Beed Teaches German Language to Kids

A Zilla Parishad school in Beed, Maharashtra has started a unique initiative to make learning interesting and fun for its students. Umrad Khalsa’s school has started teaching German to the children. Many students have now shown interest in learning this new language. This new initiative has been started by Vikas Pardesi, the principal of the school, who wanted his students to learn German. He started the initiative about two months ago.

Kedar Jadhav has been teaching German language to the students for free for the last several years. When Pardesi, the principal of the school came to know about this, he contacted Jadhav. After this, arrangements were made to teach German to school children through online medium. Now, 13 students of class 8 in this school have already learned a foreign language fluently and many other students also manage to communicate in German to a considerable extent.

Kedar Jadhav, who is teaching German language to the students, is a resident of Maharashtra. Right now, he is based in Germany. He prefers to teach students living in rural areas of Maharashtra and has taught German language to one lakh students till date. Now he is busy teaching German to students of various Zilla Parishad schools.

Currently, 13 students are enrolled to learn German at the Elementary level. However, after the completion of this phase, at least 50 students of this school will have a proficient knowledge of the German language. This can help the students to get jobs in foreign countries also. School Principal Vikas Pardesi said that it is certain that the students will use their proficiency in German language to get better employment.

German language classes are held twice a week – on Tuesdays and Thursdays. The first phase of this language teaching will be completed soon. It has five phases and it is only after completing all these five phases that the students are given a course completion certificate. On completion of the course the students are also required to appear in an examination.
