Diljit Dosanjh, Shehnaaz Gill, Sonam Bajwa’s Honsla Rakh Becomes Highest Opening Punjabi Movie Ever

Diljit Dosanjh, Shehnaaz Gill and Sonam Bajwa’s comedy-drama Honsla Rakh is just two days away from its release, but the film is already breaking records at the box office. Directed by Amarjit Singh Saron, the film has become the highest opening Punjabi film of all time with a collection of Rs 2.55 crore across India. Its worldwide collection has been recorded at Rs 5.05 crore on the opening day.

According to a report by Box Office India, the film has collected Rs 66 lakh in Delhi and UP region, which is almost 90% more than a Punjabi film even before the pandemic. The report states that Honsla Rakh has surpassed all Hindi films in terms of worldwide collections as it has collected over Rs 2 crore in overseas markets.

Diljit took to Instagram to express his gratitude to his fans and followers. He wrote, “#HonslaRakh AH CHAKK.. All Punjabi Film Opening Day Records Record SHECOD BANA SHADEYA JE.. Ki Pae Karende Hon… Enjoy with your family people”

With this film, the singer-actor debuted as a producer. This is also Shahnaz Gill’s first feature film. Shehnaaz was away from the limelight after the untimely death of her close friend Siddharth Shukla last month. The actress recently resumed work, starting with the promotions of Honsala Rakh.

In her first interview after Sidharth’s demise, Shehnaaz talks about love and attachment while talking about her role in the upcoming film. Shehnaaz is playing the role of a mother of a child in the film.

The film follows the life of a single father who tries to find love again, but his plans come to a halt when his ex comes back into his life.
