After Digvijaya Singh sought a “report” on the 2016 surgical strike and the 2019 Pulwama attack, the BJP has said he is “echoing Pakistan’s narrative” and has “no patriotism left in him”.

After senior Congress leader Digvijaya Singh sought a “report” on the 2016 surgical strike and the 2019 Pulwama attack, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Monday hit back saying he was “echoing Pakistan’s narrative”. They are and they don’t do that. “There’s some patriotism left in him.”

Speaking at a public meeting in Jammu, Singh had said that the Center is yet to show a report on the surgical strike and Pulwama attack.

Till date, no report on Pulwama was placed before the Parliament. They (government) claimed surgical strike was done but did not show proof. They only spread lies,” the Congress leader said in a video posted by news agency ANI.

“Forty of our CRPF jawans were martyred in Pulwama. CRPF officials had requested the Prime Minister to airlift the soldiers, but PM Modi did not agree. How did such a mistake happen? she added.

There has been a sharp reaction from the saffron party on this.

BJP national spokesperson Gaurav Bhatia said the grand old party “does not believe our brave army and insults the army and the citizens of the country by repeatedly raising such questions”.

“The Congress is questioning the valor of our defense forces, they don’t trust those who protect us,” he said.

Bhatia further said, “The people of the country are standing with the Bharatiya Janata Party and the Indian Army and those who are making unrestrained statements are a political vacuum… their political existence is in jeopardy.”

BJP national spokesperson Shehzad Poonawalla said the Congress has “once again” questioned the attacks and it is shameful.

“Once again Congress questions surgical strike and echoes Pak narrative on Pulwama Digvijaya Singh also blamed India for 26/11; Rahul ji said that the army has been beaten. It is not Congress but PPP-Pak defeatist party which likes to attack the morale of our army.
