Did This Co-flyer ‘Instigate’ Pee Case Complainant? Report by Air India Crew Contradicts Victim’s Claim

indian water The ‘peeing’ case has taken a new turn after the flight crew submitted a four-page report in which the complainant, a 72-year-old woman, may have been provoked by a co-passenger. The report said the woman’s subsequent behavior raised doubts about her “intent and sincerity”.

According to crew report accessed by monocontrolA co-passenger, S Bhattacharjee, “probably provoked” the complainant. He was sitting at 8A opposite to the complainant (at 9A), and the accused person (8C) was sitting next to Shankar Mishra.

In its report, monocontrol Bhattacharjee had requested an upgrade to first class upon boarding, but was turned down. Further, the report mentions that the statement of the passenger at 9C, right next to the complainant, is contrary to the statement given by the complainant.

US-based Doctor of Audiology Sugata Bhattacharjee recently did told the whole incident, He described Shankar Mishra as a drunken passenger and said that he drank four glasses of single malt whiskey during lunch alone.

While Bhattacharjee was sleeping when this incident happened, he remembered what happened after that. “We were in the first row in the business class cabin. The toilet was four rows back. I still don’t understand the reason… He (Mishra) got up, went to the next row and urinated. “There was also a woman in the aisle seat, but it was the window seat female passenger who was drenched in urine.”

“Although she was clearly distraught, the cabin crew convinced her to speak to the man who urinated on her,” he said. “A drunken man is a drunken man. When you see a boy who has committed a crime like this, you don’t bring him to the victim to apologize to her.

Sequence of events as mentioned in the report

The complainant came to the galley, said that her clothes were wet as another passenger had urinated on her and needed to be cleaned. She proceeded to take off her clothes in the galley itself.

He was given towels, Savlon (antiseptic), slippers, socks and requested to change in the toilet. The crew helped her change into nightwear provided by the airline. The crew cleaned and sanitized her seat, the surrounding area, her shoes, and the bags of the guests in 9A and 9C.

She demanded that her shoes be dry cleaned, but was told there were no dry-cleaning facilities on board, according to the report.

she also said she wants air India to compensate for his dirty belongings and was considering filing a police complaint. The report added that the complainant said that upon landing, Bhattacharjee would arrange for a reporter to call him.

The crew said in their report that they promised him all possible assistance and that a wheelchair would be there for him upon landing.

Although she did not ask to change her seat, she was moved from 9A and settled in 12C, given a blanket and pillows. She thanked the crew for their help and then fell asleep.

Later, the accused person met the complainant and apologized as per reports. They struck a deal and he promised to get her things dry-cleaned and delivered to her, and also agreed to pay $200 in compensation.

According to monocontrolThe later parts of the cabin crew report contain instances which again contradict the complainant’s version of the incident and what happened afterwards.

1) A few hours before landing, the complainant stated that the crew had not cleaned his shoes and bags properly and that they had not taken care of him immediately. This happened after he praised the crew for all their help.

This change of stance happened soon after his “conversation with guest 8A”, named Bhattacharjee. Earlier, during boarding, Bhattacharjee had asked to be upgraded to first class. He was told that it was against the airline’s policy to provide in-flight upgrades.

As soon as Bhattacharjee came to know about the incident, he refused to sit next to the accused (8c) and again demanded an upgrade for himself as well as for the complainant. It is relevant to note that the complainant herself never asked to be upgraded and by this time she had slept in her new seat.

Bhattacharjee said, “All the allegations made in Air India’s internal report are baseless, I did not ask for the upgrade, I submitted a written complaint to the crew before landing (I have a copy), and I will be fired for the right reasons.” Stood up to help an elderly lady in distress.”

2) According to the crew report, the passenger in seat 9C, immediately adjacent to the complainant’s seat, made a statement which contradicted the statement made by the complainant “later”. Moneycontrol could not independently verify this statement.

3) Although the complainant was provided with a wheelchair on priority basis upon arrival, when the crew met her at the customs hall, she complained that she was not given a wheelchair on landing.

When a crew member said that he saw the complainant sitting on the wheelchair, the complainant changed her stand and said that she got down from the wheelchair as she was in a hurry.

4) The complainant then alleged that the accused person had gone back on his promise of compensation. As per the report of the crew, the accused person reached the spot and the conversation between them revealed that she was not sincere as she showed him the proof of payment.

monocontrol said Air India did not comment on the article.
