The teaser of Kangana Ranaut’s most awaited spy thriller Dhaakad has been released. On Tuesday, Kangana released the teaser on her Instagram account. She also revealed that the film will hit the theaters on May 20. “Action. genre. Thrill. All in one, Agent Agni is here!! Watch the teaser of Dhaakad. Movie releasing on 20th May,” the caption read.
Kangana Ranaut is playing the role of a detective named Agni in the film. The teaser begins with Kangana in a dark room. He then receives a command notifying him that it is ‘action time’. She then transforms into her fierce and bold spy avatar. The teaser is brutal, bloody and gives us a glimpse of the bloodshed that the film will portray. “Why should the boys have all the fun?” The text reads in the middle of the teaser.
Many fans reacted to the teaser and appreciated Kangana’s performance in it. “For the first time in Bollywood stylish thriller with lady in action… Dhaakad is going to hit the big screen,” wrote a fan. “Top level action and top level acting with such a great facial reaction. Definitely masterpiece,” wrote another social media user.
The multilingual pan-India film was supposed to release in April, but with the third wave in the country, the makers had earlier decided to move the release to May. This is Ranaut’s second pan-India journey after the stupendous success of Thalaivi based on the life of Jayalalithaa.
Dhaakad is Bollywood’s first high-octane spy thriller to be led by a female artist. The film is the first large-scale multilingual project in the country to feature prominently by a female superstar. The action film, led by Ranaut, also starred Arjun Rampal, Divya Dutt and Shashwat Chatterjee among others.
Dhaakad is directed by Rajneesh Razi Ghai and produced by Deepak Mukut and Sohail Maklai and co-produced by Hunar Mukut.
