Dggi May Appeal In Sc Against Bail To Businessman | Kanpur News – Times of India

KANPUR: Directorate General of Goods and Services Tax Intelligence ( DGGI) is consulting senior lawyers to appeal against the bail order passed by the Allahabad high court in favour of perfume trader Peeyush Kumar Jain of Kanpur. Giving this information, special public prosecutor for DGGI Ambarish Tandon said, “The department is not satisfied and for making an appeal against the bail of Peeyush Jain, it had started seeking opinion of its Supreme Court lawyers. The department would challenge the high court’s order in the apex court.” The accused had not revealed so far the names of sellers of goods and purchasers of prepared products. “Generally, any business generates around 15% earnings on total investment and transaction. If the seized amount was Rs 196 crore as earning as claimed, then imagine what would be the sale amount,” Tandon added. tnn
