Kanpur: A six-year-old boy died after the gate of a government basic primary school fell on his head in Kanti Mubarakpur village in Barasagwar police area of Unnao district late Wednesday evening.
As children in the neighbourhood were playing outside the school, Yash was swinging on the gate. The gate, however, gave in and fell on Yash following which he received severe head injuries and died while being taken to the district hospital.
On Thursday morning, the family created a ruckus by placing the body at the school gate.
The police pacified them by assuring action.
The deceased was a class II student at the nearby convent school in the village. His family members have demanded action against the contractor engaged by the school for the construction work.
SO Barasagwar Raj Bahadur pacified the family members assuring strict action in this regard. The police later sent the body for post-mortem.
The SO said that as the boy’s father works in Surat in Gujarat, his uncle Sukhram, has given a complaint.
“Further action will be taken after investigation,” he added.
