Despite being a SP MLA, not invited to today’s party meeting: Akhilesh’s uncle Shivpal Yadav

Ahead of a Samajwadi Party meeting on Saturday to review its performance in the recently concluded Uttar Pradesh Assembly polls and plan for the upcoming Legislative Council elections, Pragatisheel Samajwadi Party (PSP) leader Shivpal Singh Yadav said he was “not invited”. Despite being a party MLA”, the party, however, said that the meeting with the coalition leaders would be held on March 28.

The PSP leader had contested the election on the SP symbol as part of the alliance.

SP chief and nephew of Shivpal Akhilesh Yadav will preside over the meeting.

“I was not invited to the party meeting. I waited for two days and canceled all my programs for this meeting, but I was not invited.” Jaswant Nagar MLA Shivpal told ANI.

Its newly elected MLAs and members of the Legislative Council will be part of the meeting to be held at the party’s headquarters in Lucknow.

Replying to Shivpal, SP leader Naresh Uttam Patel said, ‘Shivpal Yadav is the leader of the ally. Alliance leaders have been called for a meeting on March 28.”

In the recently held elections, the Bharatiya Janata Party retained power in the state by winning 255 of the 403 assembly seats, while SP Won 111 seats.

After the results, Shivpal blamed the BJP for his defeat. Our (SP alliance) seats and vote percentage have increased in the elections. The people of the state did not give up SP, We lost because of BJP’s dishonesty and cunning.

The party’s chief spokesperson Rajendra Choudhary had said that earlier this meeting was to be held on March 21, but due to nominations for the Legislative Council elections, it was extended to March 26.
