According to Singh, Deshmukh had given a target of collecting Rs 2 crore each from 1750 bars and restaurants in Mumbai. Many police officers including Sachin Vajhe were engaged in this work.

This is how the entry of CBI and ED happened in this case.
After this allegation, Anil Deshmukh landed in trouble. He had to resign from the post of Home Minister. On the orders of the High Court, the CBI started investigating the case. When the investigation of this case started, more cases of money laundering kept on opening. In such a situation, another central investigative agency ED also entered. Many places of Anil Deshmukh were raided and then ED arrested him. Deshmukh is currently lodged in Arthur Road Jail in Mumbai.
