The visit of the Danish PM is expected to strengthen the relations between the two countries.

Danish Prime Minister Mette Fredriksen arrived in Delhi on Saturday on a 3-day visit. This is his first visit to India. During his meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Frederiksen described him as an inspiration to the world. From here she reached Raj Ghat and paid tribute to Mahatma Gandhi. The visit of the Danish PM is expected to strengthen the relations between the two countries.

India is our close partner
Denmark’s Prime Minister Mette Fredriksen arrived at the Delhi airport on Saturday morning. He was received here by Minister of State for External Affairs Meenakshi Lekhi. After meeting Prime Minister Modi at Rashtrapati Bhavan, the Prime Minister of Denmark said- I have seen the Government of India taking responsibility for the issue of green transition in the whole world including India. I see this visit as a milestone in the bilateral relations between Denmark and India. Denmark considers India a close partner.

Fredrickson also met External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar. Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Arindam Bagchi said the Danish PM’s visit is an opportunity to review and take forward the India-Denmark Green Strategic Partnership. Presently there are more than 200 Danish companies in India and more than 60 Indian companies have their presence in Denmark.

Will meet President Kovind
Fredrickson will call on President Ram Nath Kovind and hold bilateral talks with Prime Minister Narendra Modi. She will also interact with think tanks, students and members of civil society. India has described Fredericksen’s visit as very special, as she is the first head of state to visit India. External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar also visited Denmark earlier this year. His visit is expected to strengthen ties between India and Denmark.
