He also prayed for the peace of Rahul Bhatt’s soul. It has also demanded that they should be given security in the Valley or their posting should be made in Jammu.

He questioned why the central government and union territory administration are not creating a safe environment for Kashmiri Pandits.

Angered by the killing of Rahul Bhatt, Pandits posted in Kashmir are continuously protesting under the PM special employment package.

District Development Commission Budgam responsible for Rahul’s murder
The protesting people also accused the District Development Commission Budgam of being responsible for the murder of Rahul Bhatt. Rahul Bhatt’s wife has claimed that her husband had demanded posting near the house, but the District Development Commissioner Budgam did not pay any heed. They posted Rahul to a remote area, where he was murdered.

Kashmiri Pandits say that the era of target killing in Jammu and Kashmir in the 90s has returned.

After shaving his head, Kashmiri Pandit Sanjay Kaul said, ‘We did the shaving voluntarily for Rahul Pandit, as he died at a very young age. He has a 5 year old daughter. We want to ask the government to wake up because it is a genocide. Another Kashmiri Pandit Ranjan Jotshi said that he is with Rahul’s family in this hour of grief. We are demanding concrete and permanent rehabilitation of Kashmiri Pandits from the government and till then we want Jammu transfer.

Kashmiri Pandits also took out a rally in protest against the killing of Rahul Bhatt.

Rahul was shot inside the office
Ten days ago, terrorists shot Rahul Bhatt (35), the clerk of Chadoora Tehsildar’s office, in Budgam after entering the office. This led to his death. Rahul returned to Kashmir in 2010 under the Prime Minister’s Rehabilitation Package (PMRP). He was living with his wife and daughter at Pravasi Pandit Colony Sheikhpora in Budgam district. Under this package, 4,000 Kashmiri Pandits have returned to the Valley.
