Janhvi Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao, who will be seen in an upcoming film Mr & Mrs Mahi, have taken the internet by storm with their hilarious reaction to the iconic Gajagamini walk from Heeramandi. The actress took to her social handle and shared a BTS video from the shoot.
In the video, Janhvi Kapoor is seen wearing cricket gear, including batting pads. She walks awkwardly, and her co-star, Rajkummar Rao, funnily imitates her. In the caption, Janhvi wrote, “Our very own gajagamini walk. took a minute to get used to all those cricket pads but glad I could amuse u Mr. Mahi.” Fans also reacted. Gajagamini was recently performed by Aditi Rao Hydari in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s series Heeramandi. The walk quickly caught the attention of netizens.

On Wednesday, Rajkummar Rao took to social media to share a behind-the-scenes (BTS) video, showcasing his intense training and transformation into the character. Janhvi Kapoor will also be seen as the lead lady in the film. In the video, Rajkummar is seen engaging in rigorous cricket practice sessions, perfecting his batting and fielding skills. He is seen talking about the efforts he has taken to get into the skin of the character. “अपने ख़ुद के सपने देखना ग़लत है क्या? Mahendra’s dreams are Real and so are his Struggles,” the caption reads. As soon as he shared the video, fans also reacted. One of them wrote, “Amazin actor”. Many dropped heart emojis in the comment section.
The trailer for Mr and Mrs Mahi has dropped and it blends cricket and romance into an exciting narrative. Directed by Sharan Sharma, known for Gunjan Saxena, the film features Rajkummar Rao and Janhvi Kapoor in the lead roles. The promo reveals the actors as a married couple who share a passion for cricket. Janhvi Kapoor’s character is a doctor who enjoys watching and playing cricket, while Rajkummar Rao’s character is an aspiring cricketer who hasn’t yet made a name for himself in the sport.
Janhvi Kapoor recently said she wants to the film to MS Dhoni. However, there’s a challenge since Dhoni seems to be too busy. She shared this wish at the launch of the film’s new song, Dekha Tenu, while sharing the stage with co-star Rajkummar Rao. “Of course we want to show this film to MS Dhoni and his wife, Sakshi Dhoni but he is very busy, I’m sure. You also please help,” Janhvi Kapoor said, urging the media to help spread the word. Director Sharan Sharma added, “One of the biggest reasons to make the film.”
The film is releasing on May 31.
