Delhi’s borders will be clear for movement, the last batch of protesting farmers will return home today

New Delhi: The farmers’ agitation, which lasted for over a year, will come to an end on Wednesday as the last batch of farmers returned to their destination, once again paving the way for a mass movement along the Delhi-Ghazipur, Tikri and Singhu borders.

While the barricades along the Singhu border were mostly removed and removed on Tuesday, the farmers will completely withdraw from the Ghazipur border, the main center of their agitation, on Wednesday. Apart from this, farmers will also vacate the toll of Haryana.

Farmers’ leader Rakesh Tikait will also return home with the supporters after performing a havan in the morning. Bharatiya Kisan Union (BKU) leader Rakesh Tikait will leave for Muzaffarnagar while taking out a rally. Rakesh Tikait will reach Sisauli from Ghazipur border via Muradnagar, Modinagar, Partapur, Meerut Shivaya Toll Mansoorpur, Sorampur at around 4 PM.

After reaching Sisauli, Rakesh Tikait would go to the stage from where he took a vow that he would not return home until the three laws were revoked. The farmer Messiah Baba Mahendra used to take decisions sitting on this platform.

Reports suggest that farmers will once again gather in large numbers to welcome Tikait for the rally, which will pass through several areas.

Farmers started leaving the protest sites after the Samyukta Kisan Morcha (SKM) – an umbrella organization of farmer bodies – suspended the agitation after the Centre’s repeal of three agricultural laws and the government accepted its other demands.

Taking a sigh of relief to the district administration, the farmers will leave from Ghazipur border at nine in the morning.

Farmers started leaving the protest site on the Delhi-Haryana border on Saturday after the United Kisan Morcha (SKM) called off the agitation after the Center repealed three agricultural laws and the government conceded to its other demands.

Apart from the Singhu border, farmers mainly from Punjab, Haryana and Uttar Pradesh had been protesting at Tikri and Ghazipur borders in Delhi since November 26 last year. Agriculture laws were repealed by Parliament on 29 November.
