The women’s panel has issued summons to Delhi Police and Delhi University officials and asked them to appear with details of guidelines framed by them to ensure that such cases do not happen in future.

Following claims of sexual harassment by Indraprastha College for Women students, the Delhi Commission for Women on Monday said it has launched an inquiry into allegations of repeated inappropriate behavior towards women during the college fest.

The Commission for Women has issued summons to Delhi Police and Delhi University officials asking them to appear before them with details of guidelines to ensure that such cases do not happen in future.

The women’s panel said, ‘This inquiry is on the overall issue so that a strong system can be put in place to prevent such incidents in future. Earlier, DCW (Delhi Commission for Women) had issued notice to Delhi Police and IP College to investigate the specific case of harassment. Girl students of Delhi University’s Indraprastha College for Women alleged that some men harassed several girl students by climbing the compound wall of the institute during a function last week.
