Delhi-NCR rain: Light rain, thundershowers likely in the national capital today

New Delhi: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted light rain in the national capital on Saturday (July 16, 2022). According to the Met Office, there is a possibility of moderately cloudy sky with light rain and thundershowers at some places in the capital on Saturday. “It will be generally cloudy with light rain or thundershower at a few places over the national capital,” an IMD official said.

The Meteorological Department also said that the maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be 37 and 27 degrees Celsius, respectively.

Earlier on Friday, the day was hot and humid in the capital city with the maximum temperature recorded at 38.5 degrees Celsius, three notches above normal, the IMD said. The minimum temperature of the city was recorded at 27.5 degree Celsius on Friday.

According to the Meteorological Department, 56 to 68 percent humidity remained throughout the day.

Delhi’s air quality

According to data from the System of Air Quality and Weather Forecasting and Research (SAFAR), Delhi’s air quality index (AQI) was recorded in the satisfactory (70) category at around 9 am.

An AQI between zero and 50 is considered good, 51 and 100 satisfactory, 101 and 200 moderate, 201 and 300 poor, 301 and 400 very poor, and 401 and 500 severe.
