Delhi-NCR Crime: Scared Maternal Uncle Throws 7-Yr-Old From Terrace After Attempting To Rape Child

Ghaziabad: A maternal uncle allegedly tried to sexually assault 7-year-old girl and then killed her in Kaila Bhatta Chowki area of ​​Kotwali Ghantaghar in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh. The suspect in the case has been arrested.

The accused (27) threw the body from his terrace on Friday after the girl screamed and caused noise at the time of incident.

The girl from Sahibabad had gone to visit her maternal grandparents in Kaila Bhatta with her mother. The mother-daughter was living there for the past 15 days, informed the police while adding that the accused resides in neighbour of the grandparent’s house, the police officials informed on Saturday.

As shared by another maternal uncle, the girl went missing from 10:30 in the morning. Despite an extensive search, the girl was nowhere to be found.

“We searched the entire house and nearby places, but was unabel to find her. Some kids in the locality informed that the girl had been called by a relative living in the neighbour,” the uncle said, adding that the accused tried to escape when the family asked him about the minor.

Minor Found Unconcious, Lying On Second Floor

The uncle mentioned that there houses share a common terrace on the second floor. When the family began searching for her again in an unconcious state, they found the girl unconcious on the second floor. They rushed the girl to the hospital where she was declared dead on arrival.

When the girl went to his house, the accused identified as Imran molested the girl. As the girl tried to raise an alarm by screaming, the accused got scared and then, murdered the victim. In the preliminary investigation, the police picked up five suspects for interrogation.

“One among the five suspects was the girl’s maternal uncle who confessed abusing the child. When she resisted and threatened to tell everything to family, he strangulated her. After coming to know about the search, he threw the girl from his house terrace to the one at her maternal grandparents’ house from where she was discovered by her family” Nipun Agarwal, DCP (city) informed.

Accused And Wife Living Separately 

As per the police officials, the man is married and has kids. However, his wife does not stay with her because of some marital issues between the couple.

A complaint has been filed under sections 302 (murder), 201 (destruction of evidence), 354 (molestation) of the IPC, while the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (Pocso) has also been evoked.
