Delhi Air Pollution: The increasing pollution in Delhi-NCR is making the situation worse. The matter was heard in the Supreme Court today. SC has expressed displeasure over the increasing pollution in Delhi. Chief Justice NV Ramana said that air pollution has created a serious situation in Delhi-NCR. He said that they are wearing masks even at home. The Supreme Court asked the Center what steps it has taken to deal with the rising pollution. During the hearing, the court said that the lockdown should also be considered in Delhi.

Only stubble burning cannot be held responsible: Supreme Court

During the hearing today, the Supreme Court said, “The burning of stubble alone cannot be held responsible. 70 per cent pollution is caused by dust, firecrackers, vehicles etc, which should be dealt with. . The top court further asked how to bring down the AQI which has crossed 500.

Wear mask at home due to pollution- Supreme Court

During the hearing, Justice Chandrachud said, “Young children are going to school in this situation, they are facing difficulties.” Chief Justice Ramana asked the Center to convene an emergency meeting and take immediate steps. “We want something to be done that improves the situation in 2-3 days. This is a serious problem and we have to wear masks even at home.”

The Supreme Court said that instead of punishing farmers for burning stubble, why not talk about encouraging them. The SC asked, “Why are the central and state governments not helping? There can be many economic benefits from crop residues. The farmer has to prepare the land for the next crop. He should be helped. We adjourn the hearing till Monday. are postponed.”
