Death toll from AES rises to 15 in Bihar, 2 more people died in 24 hours. Patna News – Times of India

Patna: With a six-year-old child, the state’s Acute Encephalitis Syndrome (AES) figure has reached 15. gullible Ji succumbed to his injuries at Shri Krishna Medical College and Hospital (SKMCH) in Muzaffarpur on Friday. According to the health bulletin issued by the Muzaffarpur district administration, Bhola, a resident of Pokharaira village of Saraiya block of Muzaffarpur district, died at SKMCH at around 12.56 pm. He was admitted to the hospital on August 10 in a critical condition.
A day earlier, Kirti of Sudhiyanur village of Maniyari block of Muzaffarpur district breathed her last.
Kirti, a resident of Sudhiyanur village in Maniyari block of Muzaffarpur district, was admitted to SKMCH on Wednesday with symptoms of AES. Her test report confirmed that she was infected with AES. SKMCH Pediatrics Department head Dr Gopal Shankar Sahni said the girl was brought to the hospital in a critical condition.
“The doctors tried their best to save the child, but to no avail. This is the third death from AES in the hospital within a week. one on 7th August Rajendra, Turkish resident of Chhajan village accept it Block in Muzaffarpur district, had died due to AES,” Dr Sawhney said.
Forty confirmed cases of AES have been registered in SKMCH this year so far. Most of the cases in Muzaffarpur, Sitamarhi, East Champaran, Vaishali, West Champaran and Sheohar districts.
According to a health bulletin issued by the Muzaffarpur district administration, the first AES case was reported at SKMCH on February 9 this year.
