Anil Kapoor to join Ajay Devgn, Rakul Preet Singh in De De Pyaar De 2
Ajay Devgn and Rakul Preet Singh’s De De Pyaar De 2 is all set to release on May 1, 2025. Buzz is that Anil Kapoor has also come on board for the film.
Ever since the announcement of De De Pyaar De 2, the anticipation for the film has been high. While Ajay Devgn and Rakul Preet Singh are all set to get reunited for the film’s sequel, buzz is that Anil Kapoor has also been roped in to play a significant role.
According to a report in Pinkvilla, the team has roped in Anil Kapoor to play a key role in De De Pyaar De 2. The source stated, “Anil was bowled over by the concept of DDPD 2, and it was an instant yes from him. The humour quotient in De De Pyaar De 2 is said to be a level above the prequel, with an interesting dynamic between Ajay Devgn and Anil Kapoor.”
The source further added, “The tussle between Kapoor’s character and Ajay Devgn is the standout feature of De De Pyaar De 2. It’s a dynamic that got both excited, as they have never shared an on-screen equation like this before. The sequel follows Ajay and Rakul’s comedic escapades as they strive to win over Rakul’s family.” The report also stated that Anil Kapoor will most likely play the on-screen father of Rakul.
Meanwhile, De De Pyaar De 2 is all set to release on May 1, 2025. Taking to their Instagram handle, Luv Films and T Series official wrote, “De De Pyaar De 2 will release on 1st May 2025. The film is directed by @anshul3112, produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, Luv Ranjan & @gargankur82 and written by @tarun.j.85 & Luv Ranjan.” Earlier, Pinkvilla, in its exclusive report, mentioned that the DDPD team has locked in the release date of De De Pyaar De 2. According to sources close to the development, De De Pyaar De 2 will hit the big screen on May 1, 2025, coinciding with the holiday of Maharashtra and Labour Day. “It’s a four-day long weekend and is perfect for a film like De De Pyaar De 2, which is a family entertainer appealing to audiences of all age groups. The film will be looking to reap the benefit of the summer vacations too, as that’s when families step out in big numbers to consume content on the big screen,” revealed a close source.
De De Pyaar De 1 also starred Tabu in the lead role. It revolves around the star of a 50-year-old Ashish (played by Ajay), a divorcee who falls for 26-year-old Ayesha (played by Rakul). In the film, Tabu plays Ajay’s ex-wife. The story sheds light on the backlash Ajay faces for falling in love with a girl the age of his kids and the complexities that come with it.
