Speaking to the media after attending an event in Delhi, Maliwal said that she was sexually abused and tortured by her father till she lived with him. The DCW chief said that the same torture gave him the courage to become a social activist and work against such men in the society.
Swati Maliwal narrated her ordeal, “When I was a child, I was sexually assaulted by my father. He used to beat me, I used to hide under the bed.”
