David Warner can’t wait to ‘hit the ground running’, work out fitness inside hotel room

with step two IPL With 2021 just a week away, most teams have sent their players so that they can undergo a mandatory six-day hard quarantine as per IPL protocol, and be eligible for selection when the tournament resumes. David Warner, the former Sunrisers Hyderabad captain, joined the SRH camp on Friday, 10 September and is going through the mandatory period.

The aggressive Australian opener took to Instagram to share a video inside his hotel room for the upcoming season. In the video, Warner can be seen doing shadow exercises with the bat and working on his leg movements.

Along with the video, Warner wrote, “One has to keep the feet moving, adapt to the conditions and take in the non-existent fresh air. It’s all about trying to tick off the legs and body so I’m able to hit the ground running while I’m out of quarantine.

The 34-year-old has been missing in action since his infamous ouster from the SRH side after being sacked as captain after a disappointing start to the season. Since then, the left-handed batsman has not performed in any form of cricket.

Southpaw had also shared another post showing off his fitness equipment inside his hotel room at the Hyatt Regency Dubai Creek Heights – Sunrisers Hyderabad Team Hotel.

Sunrisers Hyderabad, one of the most consecutive teams in IPL history, are currently at the bottom of the IPL 2021 points table, having won just one out of the six matches they have played. His disappointing form forced him to change his captain in the middle of the season.

He also dropped his highest run scorer David Warner when the Aussie looked like a hazy shadow of himself, scoring 193 runs in 6 matches at a strike rate of 110.28.

Hyderabad team resumed their IPL 2021 season on September 22, 2021 with table toppers Delhi Capitals. The Orange Army, led by Kane Williamson, need to win all their remaining matches to have a chance to qualify for the playoffs.
