David Malan celebrates his maiden century against Netherlands.
David Malan created a new record in the first ODI vs Netherlands as he scored his maiden century in just 91 balls in the 50-over format.
With this innings, Malan became only the second Englishman after joss butler Scoring hundreds in all three formats of the game.
Anyway, England prepared the Netherlands for one final bash as the team scripted history to record the highest total in ODI cricket of 498/4.
As far as the match is concerned, Netherlands won the toss and elected to bowl. Batting first, England got down to a flier as Philippe Salt smashed the bowlers left, right and center for 122 runs off just 93 balls.
Dawood Malan came forward and started right from where the salt had left. He started off aggressively and played in the same fashion to register his maiden century in One Day Internationals.
But the real monster was yet to come. Jos Buttler reached his half-century in 27 balls, kept on attacking, reaching three points in just 47 balls, and eventually remained unbeaten on 162. Livingstone was the next player to pile up the misery for the Netherlands. He started out like there is no tomorrow, and reached his forties in no time.
