Coimbatore: Coimbatore District Collector GS Samiran has constituted a committee to probe an incident in which a Dalits A staff member of the administrative office of a village took a . prostrated in front of non dalit Man. The collector ordered the police to register a case. The collector took this step after a video of the incident surfaced online.
The inquiry committee is headed by District Revenue Officer Leela Alex. Police Officer S Selvanagarathinam And Leila Alex began questioning.

56-year-old Muthusamy, who works as an assistant in the village village office Administrative officer at Oderpalayam near Annur, first prostrate K Gopalasams, 38, of Gobirsipuram near Pogalur on Friday.
Gopalasamy visited VAO Office to check some land documents. He argued with VAO Kalaiseelvi, who asked him to produce valid documents to verify the details of the property. Gopalasamy had a heated argument with the VAO. Muthusamy intervened. Gopalasamy got enraged and allegedly abused the village assistant using his caste name. Muthusamy allegedly slapped Gopalasamy. Gopalasamy threatened Muthusamy and asked him to prostrate in front of him.
Muthusamy bowed to Gopalasamy. The people present there recorded the incident on mobile phones.
Gopalasamy had lodged a complaint with the Annur police. He demanded action against VAO Kalaiseelvi and village assistant. The police issued the receipt after accepting the complaint.
