CRPF officer martyred in terrorist attack in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pulwama

Srinagar: An assistant sub-inspector (ASI) of CRPF was killed after terrorists attacked joint forces at Gangu crossing in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district. ADGP Kashmir said that the ASI of 182 Bn CRPF succumbed to his injuries soon after being taken to a nearby hospital in critical condition. Immediately after the attack, the entire area was cordoned off to nab the attackers.

Kashmir Zone Police tweeted, “Terrorists opened fire on Naka party at Gangu crossing in Pulwama from nearby apple orchard. In this terrorist incident 01 CRPF jawan ASI Vinod Kumar was seriously injured. He was taken to hospital for treatment. were taken to where they were martyred. The area has been cordoned off. Search is on.”


This is the second such attack by terrorists on security posts in Kashmir. Earlier on July 12, terrorists attacked a police post in Lal Bazar, Srinagar, in which an assistant sub-inspector was martyred and two policemen were injured.
