COVID Third Wave: Make separate arrangements for children, CM Pushkar Dhami instructs hospitals

Dehradun: Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Friday asked all hospitals to be ready with separate oxygen and ICU beds for children by July 31 in view of a possible third COVID wave.

While reviewing the situation of Kovid-19 in the state through video conferencing, Dhami asked all the district magistrates to ensure that the hospitals in their areas are ready with separate arrangements for children by the end of the month.

The Chief Minister said that more doctors and funds would be provided for this purpose if needed.

He asked all district hospitals, community and primary health centers to have separate wards for children, besides adequate ventilators and oxygen supported beds.

He said that both testing and vaccination are essential in the fight against Kovid. He said, “Although there has been a decline in the cases of Kovid, we still need to be extremely careful.”

Chief Secretary S Sandhi also asked the DMs to be prepared to deal with the third wave of the pandemic.
