Covid-19: Maharashtra Logs 711 Fresh Cases Of Coronavirus, Four Fatalities

MUMBAI: Maharashtra reported 711 new coronavirus cases on Tuesday, a sharp rise of 463 over the previous day, and four fatalities, the health department said. With the new additions, the state’s COVID-19 tally has mounted to 81,46,301 and the death toll to 1,48,449. There are now 3,532 active cases left in Maharashtra.

The state had recorded 248 COVID-19 cases and one death a day earlier. Of the four deaths, two were reported in Satara and one each in Pimpri-Chinchwad city and Ratnagiri district. According to the bulletin of the health department, the mortality rate of COVID-19 in the state is 1.82 per cent.

A total of 447 patients have been cured of coronavirus infection in the state in the last 24 hours, taking the total number of recoveries to 79,94,060. The recovery rate is 98.13 percent.

A total of 8,951 tests were conducted in the state in the last 24 hours, taking the number of samples tested so far to 8,66,55,385.
