He said that Uttar Pradesh is moving ahead on the path of development and highlighted the various efforts of the government. The BJP leader also thanked over 7,000 farmers who had given consent for the acquisition of their land for the airport without any dispute.

He said the ceremony was a “much-awaited” moment for western Uttar Pradesh and is significant as this is where farmers took the initiative to add sweetness to the region with sugarcane cultivation. Addressing the gathering, Adityanath said, “Some people had tried to associate the bitterness with a series of riots in the sugarcane sector of Uttar Pradesh. He thanked the Prime Minister for “gifting” western Uttar Pradesh in the form of the Noida International Airport. The airport is being developed by Yamuna International Airport Private Limited (YIAPL), a subsidiary of Swiss concessionaire Zurich International Airport AG. The entire project has been planned over an area of ​​5,000 hectares at a cost of around Rs 30,000 crore and will make it Asia’s largest airport upon completion.

In the first phase of the project, over 1,300 hectares of land will be developed at a cost of over Rs 10,000 crore and the airport is scheduled to open by September 2024, according to project officials. Among those who attended the foundation stone laying ceremony were Gautam Buddh Nagar MP Mahesh Sharma, local MLAs Dhirendra Singh, Pankaj Singh and Tejpal, Union and state ministers.
