Coronavirus’s kappa version of concern; After 2 in UP, 11 cases were reported in Rajasthan

Jaipur: Rajasthan Medical and Health Minister Raghu Sharma has confirmed that 11 patients infected with Kappa type coronavirus have been found in the state. Giving more information, he said that out of 11 patients, four are from Alwar and Jaipur, two from Barmer and one from Bhilwara.

The minister informed that the IGIB lab in Delhi confirmed the presence of the kappa variant in nine samples through genome sequencing, while the other two samples were confirmed by SMS Medical College and Hospital, Jaipur.

Sharma further said that the kappa version of the coronavirus is moderate and less lethal than the delta version. He also appealed to the public to follow the proper behavior of Kovid with full discipline.

Two cases of Kappa type were reported in Uttar Pradesh last week. UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, in a regular review meeting, discussed the genome sequencing of 109 samples conducted at King George’s Medical College, which found the delta plus variant of COVID-19 in 107 samples, while the kappa variant in two samples. found.

So far, more than nine lakh cases of corona virus have been reported in the state. About 9,000 of the infected patients have lost their lives to this deadly disease. In the last 24 hours, 28 new cases of corona virus infection were reported.

Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot said on Tuesday that due to non-supply of anti-Covid-19 vaccines as per the requirement by the Center, there is a delay in giving the second dose to the people. He requested the central government to make adequate supply of vaccines.
