Coronavirus Omicron symptoms: AIIMS doctor explains why difficulty in breathing cannot be linked to COVID-19 Omicron Version

In most cases of COVID-19, the virus multiplies in the lungs, causing breathing problems. But in the case of Omicron, it is possible that the virus is multiplying in the throat. Dr Puneet Musra, Professor of Community Medicine, AIIMS, said that it is not unusual for a particular virus type to display symptoms different from the original strain. Same is the case with the Omicron variant. This new strain of coronavirus does not cause breathing problems like other types, probably because it is not multiplying in the lungs. This minimizes the effect of Omicron infection on the lungs. In addition, from most places around the world where the Omicron variant is spreading, it has been reported that the throat is being affected, which proves that diversity is increasing there.
