Coronavirus in India: Active COVID-19 cases drop to 21,530. Check fresh infections, deaths

new Delhi: India on Friday reported 1,685 fresh COVID-19 cases, 2,499 recoveries and 83 deaths in the last 24 hours.

The new coronavirus infections took the total number of COVID-19 cases to 4,30,16,372, while the active cases fell to 21,530.

The death toll rose to 5,16,755 with the fresh deaths, according to the Union Health Ministry data.

Active cases comprise 0.05 per cent of the total infections, while the national COVID-19 recovery rate is 98.75 per cent.

The number of people recovering from COVID-19 rose to 4,24,78,087.

According to ministry data, the cumulative COVID-19 vaccine doses administered in the country has crossed 182.55 crore so far.

Coronavirus cases in Kerala, Maharashtra, Delhi

Kerala recorded 558 fresh infections on Thursday, taking the total to 65,29,651 so far.

In addition, the southern state reported 74 deaths, taking the total to 67,550 so far, according to an official press release.

Of the 74, two were reported in the last 24 hours, eight were in the last few days but were not recorded due to late receipt of documents and 64 were reported after receiving an appeal based on the Centre’s new guidelines on COVID-19. -19 were designated as deaths. and directions of the Supreme Court, the release said.

With 773 more people recovering from the virus since Wednesday, the number of recoveries reached 64,56,428 and active cases came down to 4,802.

Maharashtra on Thursday reported 139 new coronavirus cases and three new deaths linked to the disease, while 255 more patients were discharged after recovery.

With this, the number of COVID-19 cases in the state rose to 78,72,956, while the death toll rose to 1,43,772, a health department bulletin said.

Mumbai reported the highest number of COVID-19 among all the cities in the state at 54.

Significantly, the active cases of Maharashtra have come down below the 1,000 mark.

According to the department, the number of cured cases in Maharashtra rose to 77,24,214 after 255 patients were discharged during the day, leaving 965 active cases in the state.

Delhi reported 111 new COVID-19 cases and one death on Thursday, while the positivity rate stood at 0.38 per cent, according to data shared by the city’s health department.

With this, the number of cases in the national capital has risen to 18,64,246 and the death toll has risen to 26,149, the bulletin said.

29,223 COVID-19 tests were conducted on the previous day, it said.

Delhi on Wednesday reported 132 COVID-19 cases with a positivity rate of 0.40 per cent, and no deaths.

For as many days in March so far, there have been no deaths in the city.
