After the decline in corona cases in the country on Monday, an increase was registered once again. There were 35,197 cases on Tuesday, while 24,692 patients were found a day earlier. With this, 37,136 infected were cured in 24 hours and 440 died. Due to this, the number of active cases i.e. patients undergoing treatment has come down by 2,398. This was the fourth day when it recorded a decline. Now 3.61 lakh patients are being treated.

Update
- Kerala Health Minister Veena George directed the authorities to set up Child Care Units (CCUs) and Intensive Care Units (ICUs) in 48 hospitals in view of the possibility of a third wave of corona. He said that 60% of their facilities should be completed within three months.
- Malls in Mumbai were opened on August 15 after a long wait of 130 days, but were closed again two days later (August 17). In fact, in the circular of the Maharashtra government, it was said that it is necessary for all the employees of the mall and its outlets to take the second dose of the vaccine. Due to not fulfilling this condition, almost all the malls were closed from Tuesday afternoon.
Restrictions like lockdown in 8 states
There are restrictions like complete lockdown in 8 states of the country. These include West Bengal, Himachal Pradesh, Jharkhand, Odisha, Tamil Nadu, Mizoram, Goa and Puducherry. Strict restrictions have been imposed here as in the previous lockdown.

There is a partial lockdown in 23 states and union territories of the country. There are exemptions along with restrictions here. These include Chhattisgarh, Karnataka, Kerala, Bihar, Delhi, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Haryana, Punjab, Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Uttarakhand, Arunachal Pradesh, Sikkim, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Assam, Manipur, Tripura, Andhra Pradesh and Gujarat is included.

1. Kerala
On Tuesday, 21,613 people were found infected here. 18,556 people were cured and 127 people died. So far 37.24 lakh people have come under the grip of infection. Of these, 35.29 lakh people have been cured, while 18,870 people have died. Presently 1.75 lakh patients are being treated.
2. Maharashtra
On Tuesday, 4,408 people were found infected here. 5,424 people were cured and 116 people died. So far 64.01 lakh people have come under the grip of infection. Of these, 62.01 lakh people have been cured, while 1.35 lakh people have died. At present, 61,306 patients are undergoing treatment.
3. Delhi
38 people were found corona positive in Delhi on Tuesday. During this 30 people were cured and 4 died. So far 14.37 lakh people have come under the grip of infection. Of these, 14.11 lakh people have been cured, while 25,073 patients have died. 471 patients are being treated here.
4. Uttar Pradesh
On Tuesday, 26 people were found infected here. During this, 24 people were cured, while 1 patient died. So far, more than 17.08 lakh people have been infected in the state. Of these, 16.85 lakh have been cured, while 22,786 patients have died. 420 patients are being treated here.
5. Gujarat
On Tuesday, 17 people were found corona positive here. 22 patients were cured. So far, about 8.25 lakh people have come under the grip of infection. Of these, 8.14 lakh people have been cured, while 10,078 patients have died. Treatment of 179 infected is going on here.
6. Madhya Pradesh
On Tuesday, 11 new cases were reported here and 10 patients were cured. So far 7.92 lakh people have come under the grip of infection in the state. Of these, 7.81 lakh people have been cured, while 10,515 people died. 95 patients are currently undergoing treatment.
7. Rajasthan
Here on Tuesday, 6 people were found corona infected. During this 23 patients were cured. So far 9.53 lakh people have come under the grip of infection in the state. Of these, 9.44 lakh people have been cured, while 8,954 patients have died. Presently 163 patients are undergoing treatment.
