Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai said the announcement showed “how far down they are in the electoral race”.

Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai on Thursday dismissed as “irresponsible and irrational” the poll promise made by the opposition Congress to provide 200 units of free electricity every month to all households if voted to power in the state.

He also said that the announcement shows “how far down they are in the election race”.

“It is an irresponsible and irrational decision. They (Congress) are desperate. That’s why they are making these announcements. Many more such announcements are expected from Congress.”
