A complaint has been filed against an unknown person who allegedly made a derogatory video of late Kannada star Puneeth Rajkumar. Taking cognizance of the video, a fan of the star lodged a complaint against the man with the police commissioner. In the complaint, the fan has allegedly named a person for making the video and sharing it on social media.

The Government of Karnataka conferred the ‘Karnataka Ratna’ to Puneeth posthumously at the Rajyotsava Awards held at Vidhana Soudha, Bengaluru on 1 November 2022. He became the 9th recipient of the Karnataka Ratna, which was last awarded to Dr. Virendra Hegde for his social service. ,
