Coal Ministry’s panel to expedite projects, tender process

The Coal Ministry on Friday constituted a committee to review and benchmark the timelines in project execution including the tendering process.

The committee, which has been set up under the chairmanship of Joint Secretary and Financial Adviser, consisting of representatives of NTPC, IOCL, PGCIL and Director (T), ECL as Member Secretaries, will look into tenders worth more than ₹ 300 crore for coal. Will check India Limited, its subsidiaries and other PSUs said in an official statement.

The above committee has been constituted to help suggest a sound and efficient timeline and advise whether statutory clearances are required to be obtained before the tender is floated, the statement said.
