CM Yogi reaches Mathura for Janmashtami celebrations; Support of saints on ban on liquor, meat in Mathura-Vrindavan

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath reached Mathura on Monday to attend the Krishna Janmashtami celebrations. The Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh has supported the saints and local political representatives of the Braj region (Mathura-Vrindavan) that no alcohol or non-vegetarian food is sold in the region.

UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath launched a scathing attack on the opposition, saying Lord Krishna and Ram used to be ‘communal’ for the previous governments. “Today, when it seems that society will not forgive them, they bow down and worship Lord Krishna and Rama. This victory of ideology is the biggest victory for us,” the CM said while participating in the Krishnaotsav event in Mathura.

Speaking on the occasion, the UP CM attacked the opposition leaders without naming them and said, “Those who were earlier afraid to go to temples, for fear of being communal, are now saying that Ram is mine, Krishna bhi are mine. Earlier the celebrations of Hindu festivals were restricted, alerts were issued that the festivities should stop at midnight, there would be no fireworks after a certain time. Now there is no such restriction, our Lord Krishna is born after midnight.”

“After independence, Ram Nath Kovind is the first President of the country who came to Ayodhya and had darshan of Ram Lalla. Narendra Modi was the first PM to do so,” said CM Yogi Adityanath and also supported the demand of saints and local political representatives of the Braj region (Mathura-Vrindavan) that no liquor or non-vegetarian food is sold in the region.

“Our forefathers cherished our rich tradition. One can have darshan of Banke Bihari ji here.” “The focus of my government has always been on development and protection and preservation of culture,” he said.

The government is also making all efforts to promote pilgrimage tourism and to revive the cultural heritage in the Braj region. The Prime Minister of the country has given this new direction to the country, the CM said, “Blessings of Banke Bihari ji is that his government is on the path of progress with development and technology.”

The world has been battling the Kovid-19 pandemic for the last one and a half years. But with the blessings of Shri Krishna we were able to control the second wave. It is only with the blessings of revered saints that our government has been able to declare Mathura as a municipal corporation and seven religious places here as a tourist destination.

CM Yogi said that now according to the wishes of the people, Brij Teerth Vikas Parishad is working closely with the administration to make this area free from alcohol and meat and said that Brijpuri is one of the seven Puris of the world. In this regard, several development projects are being implemented.
