Citroen eC3 electric car unveiled ahead of India launch; Check range, design and more

The Citroen eC3 has been introduced for the Indian market. After tons of spy shots and leaked information, India’s new electric hatchback is out now. However, the price of the car in the Indian market has not been announced yet. Prior to the announcement of the price, the French automaker will start taking bookings for the electric car from January 22 and according to the announcement, the car will be available to customers from February 2023. The electric hatchback is the company’s first electric vehicle in the Indian market and opens new doors for automakers in India.

Citroen eC3: Exterior

The Citroen eC3 draws a lot from its ICE version. However, there are subtle changes on the exterior as well. For example, the car’s front end now lacks a tailpipe, and the front fender now houses the EV’s charging port. Whereas, other elements like the car bumper remain the same.

Citroen eC3: interior

Similarly, a slight change has also been made in the interior of the electric car. The difference can be seen in the form of the center console; There is also a new drive controller and the gear lever has also been changed. It is to be noted that keeping the car identical to the ICE variant gives it a price advantage as the parts for the ICE variants are locally manufactured.

Citroen eC3: features

The electric car has a similar feature list to its ICE variant as it gets a 10.2-inch touchscreen infotainment system with connectivity features, height adjustable seats and many more. To keep the occupants safe, the car gets features like ABS with EBD, dual airbags and more.

Citroen eC3: range, powertrain

The 29.2kWh battery pack for the Citroen eC3 is coming from Chinese company Svolt. However, Citroen plans to localize it in future. The Citroen EV gets a 3.3kW onboard AC charger and CCS2 rapid charging capability. The eC3’s front-axle mounted electric motor produces 57 horsepower and 143 Nm of peak torque. The eC3 has a range of 320 km which is ARAI approved. Apart from two driving modes, Standard and Eco, it also gets regenerative braking. This powertrain enables the car to go from 0-60 kmph in 6.8 seconds, and the EC3 claims a top speed of 107 kmph.
