China has slammed the United States after the Joe Biden-led country raised alarm over the construction of Chinese infrastructure near the Indo-Tibetan border near Ladakh. US Pacific Army General Charles A Flynn on Wednesday said the defense infrastructure built by China along the Indian border is “dangerous” and “eye-opening”.

According to a report, Beijing has accused Flynn of trying to ‘fan flame’ through his statements.

Zhao Lijian, spokesman for the Chinese foreign minister, said, “Some US officials have pointed fingers and tried to extinguish the fire and drive a nail between the two countries. This is shameful. We hope that the US contributes to regional peace and stability.” One can do more work.” ,

Zhou further said that the border issue is a matter to be resolved between the two countries.

“Both sides have the willingness and ability to resolve the question through dialogue and consultation”.

The Chinese embassy in New Delhi also addressed the matter, saying the allegations against China were “without any factual basis” and accused the US of violating norms of “basic principles of diplomacy”.

Chinese construction on the border of Pangong Lake

The construction of a Chinese bridge, termed highly ‘strategic’ by analysts, was completed in Khurnak on the border of Pangong Lake, which extends into Ladakh and Tibet.

In February this year, Minister of State for External Affairs V Muraleedharan had informed the Lok Sabha that a bridge was being constructed by China over Pangong Lake in areas under China’s illegal occupation since 1962, stating that the Government of India was using this “illegal” “Never accepted the business.

In the summer of 2020, the Ladakh border standoff between India and China broke out after armies clashed in the Pangong area.

The situation escalated after the conflict in Galwan Valley in June of the same year.

The two countries held 15 rounds of talks for separation to defuse tensions in the region. As a result, India and China have moved their troops to the Gogra Heights area of eastern Ladakh.

Troops from both sides also participated in the Pangong Lake area in February last year.

Meanwhile, after China built a bridge over Pangong Lake in Ladakh, a senior official of Chushul region has claimed that it has now installed mobile towers near the border.

Chushul councilor Konchok Stanzin flagged the issue in a tweet and claimed that three mobile towers have been installed near a hot spring in China, very close to Indian territory.
