China floods: 60 million people affected; 590 dead or missing – Times of India

BEIJING: China’s emergency management ministry reported 590 people died or went missing in flood-related disasters from January to October this year, affecting 58.9 million people in the country.Member) said on Monday.

According to Zhou, local governments are urgently repairing local infrastructure, processing security identification of damaged homes and harvesting autumn grain. In addition, MEM is helping local governments prepare post-disaster recovery and reconstruction plans, the Global Times reported.
Zhou said some provinces with better conditions should finish rebuilding collapsed houses before the Spring Festival early next year.
