Chile has reported a seven-day moving average of about 4,500 cases of COVID-19, its lowest since March.

Chile has recorded a seven-day moving average of nearly 4,500 cases of COVID-19, the lowest since March, the health ministry said on Sunday.

Health Minister Enrique Paris said that in the past 24 hours, another 4,488 cases were reported, bringing the total to 1,547,103 infections and 135 deaths, taking the death toll to 32,298, Xinhua news agency reported.

Paris reported that there has been a 26 percent decrease in cases at the national level in the last seven days and a decrease in cases has been registered in all 16 regions of the country.

The Chilean government on Tuesday will lift total confinement in 24 communities in the Santiago metropolitan area. This is in addition to the 10 municipalities that lifted confinement measures on Thursday.
