1. The age-old custom of meeting the gods

3. Temple of the princess inside the well

In Lower Samkhethar of Mandi is the temple of Kuan Rani, a common heritage of Hindus and followers of Buddhism. Princess Mandharva was taking lessons in Tantra Sadhana from Guru Padmasambhava in this well, that someone filled the ears of the king about the relationship between the two. The king ordered both of them to be burnt alive in the well itself. Smoke continued to rise from the well for seven days. After seven days, instead of the well, a lake became a lake. After Padmasambhava descended on a lotus flower, the king realized his mistake. Padmasambhava was called the second Buddha and Princess Mandharva was said to be an incarnation of Mother Tara.

4. Preservation of 150 Old School

Old students of a school in Mandi, by spending crores of rupees, preserved 150 old princely heritage schools in their original form. The work of conservation of heritage building was done under the project of Asian Development Bank with the efforts of Old Students Association, Vijay High School Mandi. The two-storeyed school built of deodar wood and stone is a unique example of Pahari style architecture of its era. Due to the shape of the building being like the letter ‘O’ of English, it was also called by the name of O Block.

It was launched on 28 February 1939 in the presence of Raja Jogendra Sen of Mandi by the States Forces Military Adviser in Chief Sir Arthur M Mills. It is related to King Siddha Sen of the 17th century. The place was also known as Siddha Sir. In 1701 AD the enmity between Mandi and the neighboring princely state of Bhangal was at its peak. King Prithi Pal Bhangalia of Bhangal was taken prisoner by the then king of Mandi princely state, Siddha Sen and beheaded him. The king’s head was buried at this site by the king.

The memories of the rulers of the princely state of Mandi are preserved even today. For the first time, the then King Hari Sen got his picture inscribed on the stone rock in the memory of the late King Keshav Sen. The Joginder Gymkhana Club at Paddal was opened on 15 October 1927 by British Commander-in-Chief in India Field Marshal Sir William Birdwood during the British Raj on the request of Raja Joginder Sen of Mandi. In the year 1623, Raja Janardan of Chamba was murdered by Raja Jagat Singh of Kangra by fraud. The pregnant queen of Chamba had reached Mandi after saving her life. Raja Harisena of Mandi gave shelter to the queen of Chamba. Chambayali queen brought with her the idol of Babakot Narsingh. Raja Harisena installed the idol of Babakot in the highest room adjacent to Damdama Bhawan. There may be a ban on the use of tobacco in public places, but Baba Kot, who is seated in the Damdama Mahal of Mandi, is pleased with the gift of tobacco. Himachal Darshan Photo Gallery is located near Sauli Khad on Chandigarh-Manali National Highway, about 4 km from Mandi.
