Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) The admit cards will be issued today, January 7 at gate.iitkgp.ac.in. The exam is to be held from February 5 to February 15 in two shifts. The exam is conducted for admission to PG courses in IITs, IISc as well as for entrance to government jobs. GATE score is valid for three years from the date of declaration of result.

It is important for the candidates to download the admit card and take a print out of the same as without it they will not be allowed to appear in the exam. It will contain the name of the candidate, category, subject, exam city, exam venue and timing. The GATE 2022 admit card will also contain other social distancing rules and instructions to be followed in the exam including dress code and COVID-19 protocol.

The candidates appearing for GATE have been advised to get vaccinated before appearing in the exam. As per the official website, “The health and safety of our exam participants is the top priority. Due to the current COVID-19 pandemic situation, all the dates mentioned on this website are subject to change. In rare cases, GATE 2022 exam may be postponed or canceled due to circumstances beyond control. All the candidates are advised to get vaccinated against COVID-19.

GATE 2022: Exam Pattern

GATE 2022 will be a three-hour test to be conducted in Computer Based Test (CBT) mode. There will be multiple choice questions, numerical answer type questions as well as multiple choice questions. For each correct answer, students will get either one mark or two marks depending on how many marks have been allotted to the question. One third mark will be deducted for each wrong answer.

It will be conducted for 29 subjects. Two new disciplines have been added this year – Geomatics Engineering, and Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering. A candidate can appear for a maximum of two papers. Combinations must be selected from an approved list of combinations.
