Kedarnath Yatra updateUttarakhand’s Kedarnath received fresh snowfall today (May 14), police appealed to pilgrims visiting the shrine to plan their journey according to the weather forecast.
The police also advised the devotees to keep umbrella, raincoat and essential medicines with them.
Superintendent of Police (Rudraprayag) Vishakha Ashok Bhadane released a clip from Kedarnath that showed snow falling over the Himalayan temple.
In the video, Bhadane urged the devotees to proceed on their journey only after checking the weather and urged them to carry umbrellas, raincoats and essential medicines. Kedarnath and Badrinath have experienced continuous snowfall in May, which is an unusual weather phenomenon.
However, the snowfall has failed to deter pilgrims from visiting the revered shrines. The two temples have attracted over four lakh pilgrims in less than a month since the Char Dham Yatra began.
Kedarnath was opened for devotees on 25 April and Badrinath on 27 April.
